Here's what 'Work in Canada Traveler of the Month' - May '12 has to say on his working holiday in Canada.
Name: Ian (Sales Rep)
Q: How long have you been in Canada and where are you now? A: I have been in Canada just about 2 years now. Firstly I lived and worked in Jasper as a Food and Beverage Attendant, I am currently living just south of Whistler and working as a Sales Rep in an Auto Parts Department.
Q: Can you share with us some of your best (or worst/funniest) experiences in Canada you have had while on your working holiday? A: Seeing wild bears was a little scary and finding a lynx was breathtaking. Learning bunny hops and 360's i'll never forget. But meeting people had to be the most rewarding, especially Samantha she's the greatest.
Q: Having had your job and accommodation arranged before you went over, would you still do it this way if you were going over for the first time (if yes, why?) A: Definitely, the security of having something to go rather then 'we'll get you an interview when you arrive' was much more comforting. I knew where i was going and what i'd be doing. Moving so far can be difficult any help you can get is good help.
Q: What 3 things would you tell someone to include in their packing to take over? A: Camera, toothbrush and socks.
Q: What would you say to someone who really wants to go on a working holiday to Canada but is a lttle cautious going on their own? A: Do it! Enriching yourself with foreign travel is not something you can buy you have to experience it. And with any luck you just might find something you didn't know you were looking for. That's what happened to me and I haven't looked back since.

Here's what our 'WiC Traveler of the Month' for April'12 has to say on their working holiday in Canada:
Name: Sarah C (Front Desk)
How long have you been in the Canadian Rockies? around 8 weeks now.
Can you share some of your best (or worst / funniest) experiences you have had so far in the Rockies: Best was doing the 5.3km walk around the lake it truely was stunning, around every corner a photo opportunity, Worst - slipping on my backside... at least once a week no matter how careful I am, And funniest (for everyone else bar me) The first time the canadians said 'watch out for the cougar' they meant the one with 4 paws not the older lady with the younger lover like I thought.
What would be your top 3 'must haves' in Canada: Pawpaw lip balm, a camera and shoes with plenty of tread.
What new food / drink have you come across that you absolutely love: The chef has me hooked on apple glazed pork - delish :)
What advice would you give someone who is thinking of going on a working holiday to Canada: Take the leap DO IT! you will love it :)

Here's what our 'WiC Traveler of the Month' for March '12 has to say on her working holiday in Canada:
Name: Rachel (Food and Beverage Supervisor)
How long have you been in Canada and which town are you now working: I have been in Canada for 21months now, in the town of Jasper in Alberta Rockies.
Can you tell us about some of your experiences you have had while living and working there: Living in Canada is a different experience completely, however its the greatest thing to do, living in a national park you get to see and do some amazing things, its normal to see elk and bears walking around, and in winter enoying the hill (mountain) as much as you can.
Have you traveled outside of where you live and seen other towns and places: I've travelled all over Canada from the east to west coast, and alot around the rockies, in winter travelling to different hills (ski mountains) to get some different boarding experience. Also been to Mexico and the USA.
Do you have a new favourite 'saying' or discovered a new favourite 'food or drink' since living there: Canadian 'sayings' I have picked up are "epic" and 'perfect", poutine is the national dish - aka chips cheese gravy, however they take it to a new level here adding almost anything to it.
What would you say to someone who is thinking of going on a working holiday to the Canadian Rockies: just do it, have no regrets its one of the greatest places to be!

How long have you been in Canada and which town are you now working: I have been in Canada (Banff) for four years! Its hard to believe how fast its gone by! I've done so much in the time and Ive had an amazing time out here!
Obviously you are enjoying the Rockies, so what's keeping you there: I have amazing friends out here that I have made over the years, it would be hard to leave! There are also so many activities on offer that you can do out here!
Can you tell us about some of your best experiences you have had while living and working over there: I have had so many wonderful experiences, its sometimes hard to remember them all! I've been dog sledding, snow boarding, ice climbing, white water rafting, horse back riding, rock climbing, on a sightseeing helicopter, plenty of hikes, swam in a glacier fed lake, met so many amazing friends and so much more!
Having been away for so long, do you miss anything back home: I do miss my family a lot, but with Skype it doesnt make it so hard! Plus i go home every year for a visit. I also miss quite a lot of food that you cant get here, but my mum does her best to post things to me e.g. vegemite, BBQ shapes, burger rings.
What would you say to someone who is thinking of going on a working holiday to the Canadian Rockies: I would say go for it! There's so many things to do and see out here that you would never have the chance of doing in Australia! The people here are so friendly and you will be sure to make friends for life!

Here's what our January'12 'WiC Traveler of the Month' has to say on her Working Holiday so far:
Name: Jasmine (Server)
Where are you living now and how long have you been in Canada: I have been in Canada for 6 and a half months and living in Jasper, Alberta
Tell us about some of your best experiences to date you have had on your working holiday: Summer time in Jasper is probably the liveliest place, there is so much to do and see. My favourite place would have to be Spirit Island, Maligne Lake about 45mins from Jasper. Other than that there is Columbia Icefield which is very educational and beautiful, Maligne canyon which is great in summer or winter, Athabasca Falls and there is a lot of hiking to do. There is also Mt Robson, the tallest Mt in the Canadian Rockies not far from Jasper. Of course I can't forget where I worked in the summer time, I met some awesome people there, some lifetime friends and I can't forget the beautiful view I got to see everyday while working there. The nightlife in Jasper is really great too. I am currently working at the Mountain in Jasper, having a lot of fun in the snow, learning to snowboard, making snow angles, meeting some more awesome people and just having a great time. This is part of my life I will never forget.
Why did you choose Canada for your working holiday: I'v always to come to Canada so when I saw the advertisement for Work in Canada I thought why not, this is my chance, not only to come to the place I dreamt about coming to, but to start travelling and seeing the world.
What would you say to someone thinking of going on a working holiday to Canada: I would say, go for it. What have you got to lose? Not only will you have a chance to see such a wonderful place that Canada is but you'll get a chance to start seeing the world and meet new people, people that could be in your life for many years to come. I will say this, you will be on a working HOLIDAY, so work yes but enjoy your holiday as much as you can and see as many places as you can. Don't waste the time you have here because it will fly by.
